Westland Markets: Building Something New for Melbourne’s West

Westland Markets officially launched in July 2026 with a simple vision: to create vibrant markets and events that bring people together across Melbourne’s west.

Created by founder Richard Sergeant, who brings more than a decade of experience running markets, community events and creative projects, Westland Markets was established to support local businesses, showcase local talent and create welcoming spaces where communities can connect.

Melbourne’s west is growing rapidly, and with that growth comes an opportunity to create more local experiences that reflect the people who live here. Westland Markets aims to play a part in that by delivering community markets, pop-up events and special activations that bring together stallholders, food vendors, performers, families, community groups and local organisations.

What to Expect in 2027

As we move into 2027, Westland Markets will begin expanding its calendar of markets and community events across Melbourne’s western suburbs.

Visitors can expect a mix of local food, handmade products, fresh produce, small businesses, entertainment, family activities and community participation. Each event will be designed to feel welcoming, accessible and connected to the local area.

For stallholders and small businesses, Westland Markets will also create more opportunities to reach new customers, promote their products and become part of a growing local market network.

More Than Just a Market

Our long-term vision goes beyond simply setting up stalls.

We want Westland Markets to become a platform for community connection, local enterprise and creative participation. Future events may include live entertainment, cultural activities, workshops, family programs, seasonal celebrations and collaborations with local organisations and businesses.

We also hope to work closely with councils, community groups, sponsors and local partners to create events that contribute positively to Melbourne’s west.
